Under the guidance of Chef Amy, the class will cook something special each day from scratch with attention to knife skills, kitchen and food safety, professional kitchen behavior, measuring and food prep.... not to mention "cleaning as you go".
This cooking series will focus on developing and/or improving independent cooking skills and allowing kids to cook the meal themselves under the guidance of a chef. They will even have input in selecting the following week's menu. Each class will consist of 3 parts:
A brief lecture/demonstration of preparing the food on the menu that day.
Cooking: Working insmall groups on one or more recipes in parallel with the other groups. (When possible, we structure the class to enable all participants to cook all the recipes)
and, of course, sitting down and enjoying the prepared recipe
