Technique; dry point and mono print.
Drypoint printing is an intaglio technique for producing editions from a printing plate. The design is drawn onto the plate made from cardboard, metal or clear perspex with a sharp instrument. Ink is pushed into the marks on the plate’s surface and the excess wiped away. The print is made using an etching press.
Mono prints are fun and easy to do that lends itself to freedom of expression. Monoprinting is a form of printmaking that has lines or images that can only be made once, unlike most printmaking, which allows for multiple originals. There are many techniques of mono-printing.
All materials included.
Michael taught school for thirty four years. He has a BFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute and a MSAE in art education from Mass College of Art. He is looking forward to teaching this class and getting people to print their ideas on the CAC’s great new press.
