In Sanda's work, she aims to seize the paradox of the union of opposites, and in particular the polar tension between life and death. Time is not linear but rather cyclic, causality is subjective, what happened once is destined to happen again. Death is end and beginning altogether. The distant past is present in every moment and the future has already happened. Rather than progression, time is repetition like a Monarch butterfly, ending at the beginning. It is the place where the grape wines die to reappear in the spring.
In order to represent the connection between reality and illusion, She uses her emotions and thoughts to construct meaning, applying oil paint and glazes layers after layers. By adding multiple impressions of light, Sanda create inner landscapes from which exude a metaphorical quality.
