What is Archival framing and why is it important?
Archival framing is a method of framing artwork and valuable documents using conservation-grade, acid-free materials and techniques to prevent damage and deterioration over time, ensuring their longevity.
Joel will guide, teach, and help you to frame your beloved 2 dimensional piece using archival techniques, saving you money and empowering you to do it yourself.
Requirements: Bring a frame 16” x 20” or smaller and an art piece that would fit that frame. Optional: bring a bag lunch
Workshop provides: matte, backing and use of tools
Instructor: Joel Kurtz is an artist/ceramicist and has a Graduate Certificate/Museum Studies from Harvard Extension School.
He has designed museum exhibits for Napa Valley Museum.
